Often reduced to the analysis of the primary structure of proteins, Mass Spectrometry has evolved over the past 20 years to provide information on the secondary, tertiary and even quaternary structure of proteins. Structural Mass Spectrometry encompasses an extending range of methods, including native MS, cross-linking, Hydrogen-Deuterium Exchange and top-down proteomics, aiming at collecting as much structural information on a biomolecule as possible (Figure 1).
