EMBO Workshop: Mechanisms of Citrullination Regulation in Health and Disease

8 July 2024 13h00-13h00
EMBO Workshop: Mechanisms of Citrullination Regulation in Health and Disease

Location: Hotel Mercure Saint Georges,
rue Saint Jérôme, Toulouse

This EMBO Workshop brings together world-leading experts from diverse fields including epigenetics, structural biology, immunology, cancer biology, autoimmunity, and neurobiology, with a common interest in the cell biological and organismal functions of citrullination. Citrullination was discovered over 50 years ago but has remained an obscure biological phenomenon until recently. Conceptual and technological advancements and an increasing appreciation of the importance of citrullination as a regulatory cell biological mechanism are fuelling tremendous growth in the field. The meeting provides a venue for cross-disciplinary discussions, with the goal of promoting interdisciplinary collaborations and catalyzing progress in the field.

Keynote presentations by Paul Thompson (UMass Chan Medical School, Worcester, Massachusetts) and Li Yang (Center for Cancer Research, Bethesda, USA), talks by excellent international speakers, and presentations selected from abstracts are among the highlights.

Session Topics:

  • Cell biological functions of citrullination
  • Citrullination in Autoimmunity and Cancer Development, Tissue Biology and Regeneration
  • Neutrophil Extracellular Traps and Chromatin Expulsion
  • Chemical and Structural Biology Tools for Citrullination
