Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion at IPBS – Pride Month 2025

For the third consecutive year, the IPBS proudly reaffirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for all. As Pride Month begins, we take this opportunity to celebrate gender, sexual, and ethnic diversity, not just during June, but throughout the entire year.

At the heart of this commitment lies our dedication to the LGBTQIA+ community and to all individuals who contribute to the rich diversity of our institute. We believe that science flourishes when people from all walks of life feel seen, valued, and empowered to be their authentic selves.

In 2021, IPBS created an Equality Committee, a permanent body dedicated to promoting gender equity, combating discrimination, and raising awareness on issues of identity and inclusion. The committee leads ongoing efforts to inform, train, and support staff in building a more equitable workplace. Its initiatives span workshops, discussion forums, communications campaigns, and policy recommendations, all aimed at embedding inclusion into the fabric of our institutional culture.

To visibly express solidarity and support, staff members are encouraged, on a voluntary basis, to add the Pride logo to their email signature this month. It’s a simple but powerful gesture to signal our collective stance against discrimination and our commitment to equality.

Throughout June, a series of awareness-raising activities will be organized at IPBS, including themed coffee breaks, educational displays, and resources on inclusive language and allyship. These events are open to all and are meant to spark dialogue, reflection, and solidarity.

Let’s continue to make IPBS a place where diversity is not only accepted but embraced and celebrated, because inclusion is not an option, it is a value we live by.
