Prof. Raju Mukherjee visits IPBS as SSHN laureate

IPBS welcomes Prof Raju Mukherjee, visiting professor and laureate of the SSHN program of the French Embassy in India (Institut Français de Bangalore).

From August 25 to September 5, IPBS is honored to host Prof. Raju Mukherjee, a laureate of the Scientific High Level Visiting Fellowships (SSHN) program by the French Institute in India (IFI). His visit, in the framework of the International Research Network on Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Resistance (IRN MIRA) and strengthened India-France scientific cooperation, will focus on advancing metabolomics studies using mass spectrometry together with Prof. Fabien Letisse within the “Mycobacterial Interactions with Host Cells” team led by Dr. Olivier Neyrolles.
Prof. Mukherjee, an Assistant Professor at IISER Tirupati since 2016, brings extensive expertise in mycobacterial molecular biology and therapeutic development. He holds a PhD from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc, Bangalore, 2007) and has contributed to both academia and industry, including roles at Biocon (Bangalore), EPFL (Switzerland), and the University of Cape Town (South Africa). His visit will further enhance our joint research efforts in infectious diseases.

About the SSHN program

The French Institute in India (IFI), the educational, scientific, and cultural branch of the Embassy of France in India, offers annual grants to support short-term visits by Indian faculty and researchers to French universities or laboratories.
These visits are designed to deepen existing collaborations or initiate new partnerships with French institutions. Through the SSHN program, IFI fosters Franco-Indian research networks by funding exchanges between leading Higher Education and Research Institutions (HERI) in both countries. The program aims to strengthen scientific cooperation and promote innovation through academic mobility.
