World TB Day 2025

Today, on World TB Day, we come together to raise awareness of a disease that continues to affect over 10 million people each year worldwide. It’s a moment to reflect on the ongoing challenges and to reaffirm our collective commitment to ending tuberculosis.

At the IPBS, we are proud to be at the forefront of the fight against TB. Through cutting-edge research and strong collaborative networks, we strive every day to advance our understanding of the disease and accelerate the development of innovative treatments.

Cutting-edge research: Our teams investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection and host-pathogen interactions. This fundamental research is key to identifying new therapeutic targets and strategies, including host-directed therapies and anti-virulence approaches.

Collaboration and Innovation: We actively collaborate with academic institutions, international consortia, and public health partners to develop more effective and accessible treatments. As part of global efforts like the ITHEMYC or TBVAC consortia, we are contributing to a renewed momentum in TB drug and vaccine discovery and development.

Community Involvement: We are also committed to raising awareness and sharing our knowledge, through science outreach, education, and international workshops, because we believe that collective action is essential to eliminate TB.

On this World TB Day, IPBS reaffirms its commitment to research, innovation, and collaboration in the fight against tuberculosis. Together, we can turn the tide and move closer to a TB-free world.
