MIRA workshop 2025

The MIRA workshop 2025

Initiated by the French-Indian consortium MIRA, this Franco-Indian workshop is jointly organised in Toulouse by the IPBS, the LMGM-CBI, Infinity and the IRSD, with the support of the CNRS, the federative research structure “Biology and Biotechnologies for Health” (SFR-B2S) and other supports to be confirmed.(University of Toulouse, University Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier, CNRS, Inserm, INRAe, CHU, Embassies, CEFIPRA, private partners)

For 4 half-days, experts in the field from research institutes in Toulouse and India will have the opportunity to present their work and exchange ideas with a view to developing, structuring or strengthening collaborative research programmes. Specific working group meetings by interest and B to B meetings may also be organised according to the needs and requests.

This scientific and information event is designed to encourage the Toulouse research community to develop cooperation with India, and to present existing funding mechanisms.

The partners will endeavour to structure and develop the various areas of cooperation identified and to implement the various levers to perpetuate their joint efforts in favour of global health.

About MIRA International Research Network

In recent decades, unprecedented changes in human-environment interactions, along with disruptions to ecosystems and climate, have created an environment conducive to the emergence of infectious diseases. This growing threat requires urgent action to strengthen prevention, surveillance, and response efforts. While the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria remains a significant short-term challenge, the broader impact of emerging infectious diseases on global health is of paramount concern.

The MIRA network, established in 2023, brings together a core consortium of 9 partners (4 French and 5 Indian) with a shared goal of enhancing research and innovation capacities. This collaboration spans from fundamental to applied research, aiming to discover new therapeutic and preventive strategies against emerging pathogens. In 2024, 9 additional Indian partners joined the network, further strengthening this international collaborative effort.

The partners are committed to developing and structuring various areas of cooperation and implementing strategies to sustain their joint efforts in support of global health.
