PhD Pub Toulouse: Science at the bar!

Are you thirsty for knowledge and curious to explore the behind-the-scenes of scientific research in a relaxed atmosphere? PhD Pub Toulouse is just the place for you!

In partnership with PhD Pub Montpellier, Pint of Science, and Ma Thèse en 180 secondes (MT180), IPBS has created this friendly, free event open to everyone!

What is PhD Pub?
It’s a series of science communication events led by PhD students from Toulouse across all disciplines. Every 6 to 8 weeks (except during the summer), in the cozy setting of Pub l’Autruche in the heart of Toulouse, four PhD students will present their thesis work in a fun and interactive way, all within 10 minutes! Each talk will be followed by a 5-minute Q&A session with the audience, and the evening will continue with informal discussions.

Why should you attend?
For the public: Discover the major scientific challenges of tomorrow in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Come ask questions, debate, and engage directly with young researchers!
For PhD students: It’s an opportunity to showcase their work to a broader audience, practice science communication, and build interdisciplinary connections.

PhD Pub is also a training opportunity
PhD students participating in PhD Pub receive science communication training led by Véronique Le Cabec at the Maison de la Valorisation et de la Recherche (UT3). This training counts for 18 hours of mandatory coursework and is open to 20 to 24 PhD students per year.
