The ERA-NET Cofund Initiative JPI-AMR supports innovative research on antimicrobial resistance at IPBS
The “Anti-Persistence” project is one of the 10 projects selected among more than 100 proposals for funding by the 6th « Joint Programming Initiative for Antimicrobial resistance » (JPI AMR) supported by the European Commission ERA-NET Cofund.
The project aims at addressing antimicrobial resistance in tuberculosis and other infectious diseases to fight antibiotic-resistant superbugs using anti-persister compounds targeting the so-called stringent response, a metabolic change that allows bacteria to adapt to stress.
This project gathers four European academic partners from Belgium (Université Libre de Bruxelles), Spain (Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona Belletera), Poland (University of Gdansk) and France (IPBS, CNRS-Toulouse, O. Neyrolles research team). It will receive a total funding of nearly 1 million € for 3 years from the ERA-NET JPI AMR Joint Transnational initiative.
