Isabelle Vergne

Background and Research activity:

Isabelle Vergne received her PhD in Biophysics in 1998 at Toulouse University (France). She spent several years in the laboratory of Vojo Deretic (USA) as post-doctoral fellow then Research Assistant Professor working on phagosome biology and autophagy in the context of Tuberculosis and HIV. She was recruited as a CNRS researcher in November 2010 and joined the Institute of Pharmacology and Structural Biology to pursue her research on host responses to infections and manipulation by pathogens with a focus on autophagy. She was awarded a Marie Curie career integration grant from European Union in 2011 and received her HDR degree in Cellular Biology from University of Toulouse in 2012.
