Committee for valorisation, relations with industry and the clinic (CoValo)
The Committee is composed of 5 IPBS members appointed by the Management and approved by the Assembly of Team Leaders and the Laboratory Council. Relevant external parties (SATT, CNRS Valorisation officer, industrialists, etc.) are invited to participate in the Committee.
The Committee’s mission is to promote the valorisation of the work carried out by the IPBS teams. The valorization includes the different stages of pre-maturation and maturation to go towards solid patent applications, licenses and eventually the creation of start-ups. The Committee has a scientific monitoring activity within the laboratory aimed at identifying projects with a high potential for valorisation that could be supported by the laboratory in the form of transitional funding. The Committee can also be called upon by members of the laboratory to provide advice on a development project, in particular to identify chemical, clinical and industrial partners. The Committee is also responsible for identifying the funding available to IPBS researchers for commercialization (pre-maturation and maturation) as well as the various structures that can provide support for commercialization and transfer activities (SATTs, incubators, business incubators).
